Mr. Simon Yaw Boribah, became the School of Veterinary Registrar in November 2016. He holds MSc degree in Development Policy and Planning from KNUST, a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Management from GIMPA, and a B.A (Hons) degree in Geography and Resource Development with Statistics from University of Ghana, Legon.
Mr. Boribah, who is now a Senior Assistant Registrar in the University, has served at KNUST since May 2001 in several Faculties and Sections including the Faculty of Pharmacy as the Faculty Officer, School of Graduate Studies as the School Secretary/Registrar, College of Health Sciences as Acting College Registrar, Student Affairs Section of the Registrar’s Offices where he doubled up as Senior Assistant Registrar and National Secretary of IAESTE Ghana; and Faculty of Allied Health Science as Faculty Registrar.
He has served as secretary on many adhoc and standing committees including: Faculty of Law Development Committee; Residence Committee of KNUST; KNUST Library Appointments and Promotions Committee; Committee for the establishment of KNUST School of Public Health; Committee that investigated Concerns of Final Year Students of KNUST Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; and Committee that Investigated an Allegation of Rape Case involving Frank Gorman. Mr Boribah did not only service Committees, but he prepared staff development policy and staff recruitment and retention plan for adoption by the Faculty of Law He also served as chairman of the Faculty of Law Retreat Planning Committee.
His research interests are in the area of university governance and university autonomy. He is currently writing on “Gradual Erosion of University Autonomy in Public Institutions of Higher Education in Ghana. Case study of KNUST”
