Goals

KNUST School of Veterinary Medicine would help provide the needed human resource to address issues relating to the expected expansion of the animal industry and public health related issues in Ghana.

Aims and Objectives:

The DVM programme aims:

  • To produce highly qualified Veterinary Surgeons with good understanding of the basic principles of veterinary medicine necessary for improving the health and well-being of both animals and humans.
  • To train highly qualified veterinary professionals to address the challenges of the expanding animal industry especially in the detection and treatment of diseases of livestock, poultry and companion animals.
  • To train Veterinary Surgeons skilled in the surveillance, prevention and control of diseases of domestic animals, wildlife as well as those of zoonotic significance to benefit Ghana as well as other countries within the West African sub-region.
